Binayak Bandyopadhyay (India)

Face-to-face with the statue of a Goddess

I looked through the mirror to see the water
Mirror put face-to-face with the statue of a Goddess
There were no announcements for any awards
Then why did I take so much risk nonetheless
I didn’t know exactly why, but thought, one might
Jump the railing to reach that state above
Where rain by pouring in with a downfall
Made the dry land muddy with love
But without having mud inside the body
The straw skeleton would have despised her
If the water couldn’t remain alive in the earth
Who would be saving the mirror inside the water?
