Applications closed for Poet in Residence Program

Chair Poet in Residence Program invites foreign poets and Indian poets from outside West Bengal to undertake a residency in Kolkata in the months of December and January. The writers are offered the opportunity to work on a manuscript and to familiarise themselves with city's heritage, culture and literature.

The 2025 edition of the Chair Poetry Evenings will take place in physical form in different parts of the city. Significant voices in the world of poetry from USA, UK, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Latvia, Turkey, Spain, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, and various parts of India will be coming together in one platform to share their poems and talk about their craft. Entry is free to all events.
