Diti Ronen

<
>
I was born in a place
called homeland,
I was born into a language
called mother tongue.
Then I grew up,
switched places and languages,
always carrying with me
my homeland
my mother tongue.
It took me years
to understand
it is not me
who carries them,
it is them who
carry me.

Translated by Joanna Chen
