Binayak Bandyopadhyay (India)

Within

Pulling the river Padma to his own body
Brahmaputra river changes colour-line
In the sky there’s an empty steel plate
But I need bread, I need wine
There is no need to take sides
History itself is the authority today
Showing me- the gold, silver, diamond, pearl
Yaksa’s guarding even death took him away
I ask- if alive what he would've done?
No answers heard, in return for dying
The proof of allegiance is religion
Therefore with obedience I’m staying
Didn’t keep life; kept seasoning for the bomb
Burning out all the treasure-shrine;
Inside this flesh is the bread
Inside this blood is the wine.
