(The Law of Dependent origin) Language is needed, not culture Capital is necessary, not culture A multinational market is required, not culture A globlized audience is indispensable, not culture Under 'Buy one, Get one' scheme A shirt is bestowed free with trousers A chemise with a shirt Confidence is required to aim for the Skies Yes, and if at all available in this global bazaar We need a bit of good manners To live on this earth Like a human being We need a 'vehicle' Big or small To venture on a global tour of Ideas We need one Buddha To elucidate the contemporary meaning of this theory of dependent origin If a Kabir gets busy with his loom we might get some idea from that 'naked fakir' -- Mohandas The man from Kathiawar with his 'Charkha' In this world of virtual reality It is difficult indeed to gauge the meaning of conditioned genesis. translated by Prof. Suchandra Chakraborty |
