Miriam Van hee (1952) is a poet and a Slavist scholar. Her poetry has been translated into ten languages and has been awarded the Jan Campert Prize, the Dirk Martens Prize, the Herman De Coninck Prize, and Ultima 2017 Prize among other literary prizes.
Her poems are also featured in the literary game ‘Puzzling Poetry’ by Studio Louter and poet Lucas Hirsch. The app was launched during the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2016, where Flanders and the Netherlands were Guest of Honour. The trilingual game (in English, Dutch and German) was created with support from the Dutch Foundation for Literature and the Creative Industries Fund NL. A compilation of her poetry called 'The Link Between the Days: Poems 1978-1996' was published in 1998, and since then four other volumes have appeared: ‘Blackberrying’ (2002), ‘Foreign Country’ (2007), ‘There too Falls the Light’ (nominated for the 2014 VSB Poetry Prize) and 'As If We Were Summoned Somewhere' (2017). For this latest volume, she won the Ultima 2017 for Literature. |
